The Saint of Compassion's views on hate and mercy are almost undoubtedly the reason for this. Unlike the Sisters of Solace or the Red Tear, the Brass Maidens have an absolute disgust for everything, including themselves. They are an order of extremist flagellants, denying themselves everything humanly possible to deny and surrounding themselves with only hate, pain and war. Their bolstered ranks of Sisters Repentia are full of self-exiled madwomen; screaming fanatics that are so far-gone in their religious insanity that they cannot even be considered human. Like masochists they howl for the sting of the lash and the crippling of war-wounds, drugging themselves into frenzies of pain and madness, spit dribbling from their mouths like wild beasts.

There is no such thing as innocence. All of mankind is sinful and corruptible and must be punished with relentless pain, for only then are they truly absolved from their sins!
